More changing autumn colours. Lens: Vivitar 55mm macro. (nice bokeh, pleasingly).

Close-up on some bark on a dead tree. Lens: Vivitar 55mm macro.

Part of the tree had been torn off at some point; the sap was still wet in places. Lens: Vivitar 55mm macro.

There are several accessible beaches you pass along edge of the lake. The path takes you clockwise around the lake. All the beaches are stony, but this one had some lakeside grass growing. Lens: Vivitar 17mm wide-angle. Nice and crisp in the corners!

Another view of the beach in the previous shot; the lake is long and narrow, this angle is pointing at the far end. Lens: Vivitar 17mm wide-angle.

There's campgrounds alongside the lake; some people had obviously been canoeing and left the canoe here for a while.

Another view of the lake from higher up. I'm not sure why the trees on the right look as if I was using a flash, because I wasn't; the day was misty, so it could well just be haze from the lake itself.

Autumn is setting in, and there's some amazing colours to be seen.

Corey shoots past rather faster than my ability to keep him in focus.

Halfway along the 'out' section, we passed a small creek. This is your generic long-exposure-of-running-water shot..

Finally, we reach the half-way point. Everyone takes a well-earned break. I go and set up the camera for the glory shot.

The Glory Shot! Ah, classic stuff. (I'm in the green top in the middle. Yes, I should have moved my bag out of the way..)

The grass seemed to change colours from the top down; I wonder if a time-lapse shot would show the yellow slowly creeping from tip to ground?

I like this one a lot. Not much else to say..

Some leaves would just fall off the branch and die, some turned amazing shades of red and orange and yellow before finally giving way.
Leaf.jpg

It's interesting to see how the colour changes seem to depend on which branch the leaf is on, rather than how far the leaf is from the roots.

Mountain biking ride alongside Lake Minnewanka (that's pronounced Mi-nuh-won-ka, so stop snickering at the back), September 16 2001.

Photos taken using an OM-2SP, cropping and minor tidyup with The Gimp. Film: generic ISO100/200/400.
